Bafos at FUCINA Summit of Procurement

Recently, I had the privilege of attending the #FUCINA Summit of Procurement, an event hosted by @Adaci, where I found myself at the table of the food supply chain, coordinated by the talented Serena Persiani Acerbo. It was here that I had the opportunity to present a project that’s very close to my heart: BAFOS – Boosting Awareness about Food Loss.

Working alongside me on this project are the brilliant minds of IMMA MIRALLES and Marco Piscitelli. Together, we’re striving to make a difference and educate the next generation on the importance of tackling food waste.

Project for Good: Educating Generation Z

Our project focuses on educating Generation Z, the digital natives who pose unique challenges and opportunities for teachers, educators, and technicians. As a generation raised on technology, we’re tapping into their digital prowess to drive home the message about food waste. And what better way to do this than through a medium they know and love: Minecraft.

We’re using the educational version of Minecraft to create a learning environment that’s both engaging and impactful. Within this virtual space, students can explore, create, and understand the implications of food waste on a personal and global scale.

There is NO Planet B!

The urgency of our project lies in the simple truth: there is no Planet B! Food waste is a significant issue that contributes to environmental degradation, and it’s imperative we educate the younger generations about its impacts. Our project strives to arm them with the knowledge and tools necessary to make informed choices, encouraging them to be proactive in their approach to reducing food waste.

Through the BAFOS project, we hope to foster a sense of responsibility and awareness among students, using the immersive platform of Minecraft to educate and inspire. We’re not just creating a game; we’re crafting an interactive learning experience that resonates with Generation Z.

I would like to extend my gratitude to @Adaci, @Fucina, @Bafos, @effebi, @Atermon, @Acofesal1, @SOML, and @DWEC for their support and involvement in this project. Let’s continue to work together towards a sustainable future, for there is no Planet B!

Stay tuned for more updates on our project. Together, we can make a difference.
